Stranger Things 4 Final Trailer Brings the Hype

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for this coming Friday. I’m clearing out my schedule that evening, and I’m making sure I have nothing to do when I get home from work. Because after what feels like about a 30-year wait, the first half of Stranger Things 4 is finally going to hit Netflix, and we just got a new trailer to hold us over until the big day.

Admittedly, this new trailer isn’t nearly as long as the last one, and it includes a bunch of footage we’ve already seen before, but I still think it’s well worth your time. See, it appears to me that the point of this trailer isn’t to tell us more about what Stranger Things 4 is going to be like. We already know just enough about it to whet our appetites without really spoiling anything, so telling us even more might be counterproductive.

Instead, I think the purpose of this new trailer is to hit us on an emotional level and get us as excited as possible for Stranger Things 4, and in that regard, it works wonderfully. Right from the get-go, with its beautiful opening shot and the ominous line, “It’s time,” this trailer had me almost jumping out of my seat for sheer joy. It reminded me of how much I love these characters, so by the time it ended, I was 100% back in Stranger Things mode. It got me more hyped than ever for this new season, so I absolutely can’t wait to go on another adventure with Mike, Eleven, and the rest of the gang.

Unlike previous seasons, Stranger Things 4 is going to hit Netflix in two parts. Volume 1 is coming out this Friday, May 27, and Volume 2 is set to drop a bit over a month later, on July 1.
