Marvel Has Revealed Their Werewolf by Night Trailer!

For the past few years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has really started to lean into the more horrific side of their catalog, and if today’s D23 panel is any indication, they’re showing no signs of slowing down. After their first full-on horror movie in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel is now doing a horror-centric Disney Plus Halloween special, Werewolf by Night, and they just revealed the first trailer for it.

At this point, we don’t know too much about the plot, but it seems to involve a group of people being brought together to hunt a monster (which we know is a werewolf). However, there’s a catch. The creature isn’t just “out there” somewhere. Rather, it’s one of the hunters. They simply don’t know who it is, and that’s where the intrigue comes in.

That sounds pretty interesting, and when we turn to the trailer, Werewolf by Night just looks more and more enticing. For starters, it has an old-school, almost The Wolf Man-like feel to it, and as a fan of the Universal Classic Monsters, I really like that. It makes me feel like a kid again watching those movies with my grandfather, and it also adds some much-needed diversity to the MCU. While Marvel has been doing a good job lately of making their projects feel very different from one another, they need to keep expanding their horizons if they want to stay at the top of the entertainment heap.

On top of that, this Werewolf by Night trailer also promises to really bring on the horror, and I have to say I’m actually a bit surprised. Since this is going to be on Disney Plus, I wasn’t sure how horrific it would really be, but it seems that Marvel is going full-on spooky with it. Sure, this isn’t going to be R-rated, but it looks even more horror-centric than Multiverse of Madness!

So for a huge fan of both horror and the MCU, this is pretty much a dream come true. I can’t wait to see Werewolf by Night, and thankfully, that wait isn’t going to be too long. It will be available on Disney Plus on October 7, and you can bet that I’m going to clear my schedule that day to make sure I get to see it as soon as possible.

  1. Hmmm, I know I saw Man-Thing flash by & I expect Blade to probably cameo somewhere in this. The B&W is nostalgic & has my interest definitely piqued!!
