Devil’s Workshop Trailer Promises Awesome Supernatural Horror

In my opinion, supernatural horror is the scariest subgenre there is. It’s literally the stuff of my nightmares, so naturally, I’m always on the lookout for good new supernatural horror movies. And if the trailer for Devil’s Workshop is any indication, this just might be what I’m looking for. Here’s what the film is about:

In this chilling psychological thriller featuring Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), struggling actor Clayton (Timothy Granaderos, 13 Reasons Why) is desperate for a role as a demonologist. He contacts Eliza (Radha Mitchell, Man on Fire), an expert in devil lore, to help him prepare and spends the weekend at her home. Eliza forces Clayton to confront his troubling past, perform dark rituals, and sacrifice a goat. Does she want to help Clayton, seduce him—or destroy him? The shocking climax will set your soul ablaze.

When I read that plot synopsis, it immediately reminds me of Starry Eyes, and if you’ve ever seen that movie, you know that’s a good thing. If I had to guess, I’d say that Devil’s Workshop will probably be a cautionary tale about the dangers of putting your ambition before your safety and/or your morals, and I don’t know about you, but that theme is right up my alley. Sure, I could be wrong about that, but even if I am, the fact that the main character is going to have to “confront his troubling past” is intriguing enough for me.

Then, when we get to the actual trailer, Devil’s Workshop just becomes more and more enticing. This trailer features super creepy imagery, an interesting mystery, and some really good acting (especially from Emile Hirsch!), and that’s a killer combination that’s tough to beat. It looks like the execution here is going to live up to the premise, so we just might be in for a real treat with this film.

Devil’s Workshop is set to hit VOD and limited theaters on September 30, and if it’s as good as the trailer suggests, you’re not going to want to miss it.
