After She Died Trailer Promises a Creepy Meditation on Grief

There are few things better than watching a horror movie that speaks to you on a deeply personal level. Granted, that experience isn’t super common, but its rarity is part of the reason it’s so great. Only a select few films can hit us in that special way, so whenever I find one that seems like it might fit the bill, I always take notice. And that’s exactly why I loved the trailer for After She Died.

This movie is about a grieving teenage girl whose father starts dating a woman who looks identical to her dead mother, and as someone who’s been in her shoes (until the weird part, at least), that premise alone is enough to get me on board. I lost my father several years ago, so the idea of seeing someone who looks exactly like him creeps me out in a way few other things can. And then if my mom started dating this guy? Yeah, I would be so not okay with that.

So naturally, I became super excited about this movie the minute I heard what it was about, and that was without seeing a single second of footage. Then, when I finally watched the trailer, After She Died immediately skyrocketed up my most-anticipated list. This trailer is creepy, it’s atmospheric, and it gives us a cool peek into the horrors awaiting us in this story. Granted, it doesn’t show us much, and it definitely doesn’t spoil anything, but it lets us know without a doubt that this odd situation is not going to end well for the people involved.

It’s pretty much the perfect way to market a film like this, so I absolutely can’t wait to see After She Died. It’s scheduled to hit VOD on September 30, and if it’s as good as the trailer suggests, we’re in for a spooky good time.
