Ash vs Evil Dead Might Continue as an Animated Series!

I love Ash vs Evil Dead. It’s my second favorite horror TV show of all time (behind only The Haunting of Hill House), so for the three years it ran, I was pretty much in Deadite heaven. I loved just about every second of that show, and I still enjoy watching it today whenever I get the chance. So naturally, when I heard Starz was canceling it, I was heartbroken. Sure, it went out on a great note, but I wanted to see where Ash, Kelly, and Pablo went from there.

And now, four years after we thought we’d never see that story continue, we’ve heard from Bruce Campbell himself that we just might get our wish for more Ash vs Evil Dead. In a chat with Collider’s Perri Nemiroff this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Campbell revealed that there have been conversations about reviving the show as an animated series. Here’s what he said:

Yeah, as an animated series. You pick up right where the show left off. You can do the future a lot easier in animation. I still sound like Ash, and you know, my voice hasn’t been as beat up as my body has been so I can still do that crap. So I’ll still do the video game. And we’re already talking about an animated [series].

To be fair, we have no idea when this would come out or even if it’ll ever see the light of day, so we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves. But the fact that there are even conversations about it is exciting enough, and it gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, I’ll get to see one of my favorite TV shows of all time come back. So here’s hoping for more Ash vs Evil Dead, however we can get it!
