Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes Trailer Teaser a Bonkers Subgenre Mashup

Sometimes when you watch a trailer, you know exactly what’s going on and get a pretty good idea of whether or not you’re going to like the movie. Other times, you have absolutely no idea what you’re watching, so you’re not really sure if the film is going to be any good, but the imagery is so intriguing you just have to see the movie for yourself. And the trailer for Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes is definitely the second kind. Here’s what the film is about:

After inheriting a run-down castle, a dispirited woman and her ill-tempered husband decide to spend the night, as time and reality shift around them.

I know that’s really vague, but at this point, it’s pretty much all we know about the movie. Plot details are being kept under wraps right now, and if the critic quotes in this trailer are to be believed, it’s for the best. One of them says we should go into the film as blind as possible so I’m happy the story isn’t being spoiled for us. There are few things more enjoyable than learning about a film as it unfolds right before your eyes, and it looks like this movie is going to make that experience particularly satisfying.

In the meantime, we have the trailer to hold us over, and if it’s any indication, Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes is going to be one crazy ride that switches back and forth between numerous different subgenres. I see elements of supernatural horror, folk horror, vampire mythology, and even some weird, Society-esque body horror, so I’m not really sure what to expect from this film.

And you know what? I absolutely love it. This looks like a fantastic cinematic buffet for hardcore horror fans, so I can’t wait to see what this story is really all about.

Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes is set to hit VOD on June 24.
