All of Us Are Dead Has an Official Release Date!

With a new year comes a whole new crop of horror films and TV shows, and one of the most intriguing is a South Korean Netflix show called All of Us Are Dead. It’s about a zombie outbreak in a school, and Netflix has just told us the show’s official release date: January 28. We already knew to expect it sometime this month but now we know exactly when it’s going to be available.

On top of that official release date, we also got a brief new trailer for the show, and in my opinion, it’s just as good as the first one. It doesn’t tell us anything about the plot, but it doesn’t have to. In just under 30 seconds, this new trailer brought All of Us Are Dead to the top of my most-anticipated list for 2022.

It mainly just gives us some cool new shots of the zombies, and they look amazing. Both the acting and the makeup are pretty much impeccable, and the way these creatures contort their bodies and move in unnatural ways is enough to send a shiver down anybody’s spine. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to run into these things in real life, but I absolutely can’t wait to see them from the safety of my living room.

Admittedly, there is one thing missing from this trailer that makes me just the slightest bit apprehensive about All of Us Are Dead: the human element. I love cool zombies just as much as anybody else, but as any horror fan knows, good zombie stories are really about the humans, not the monsters. They’re all about how people respond to the world falling apart around them, and as cool as this trailer looks, we simply have no idea how the show is going to handle that side of its story.

But aside from that one tiny caveat, I’m totally sold on this show. While Netflix movies are notoriously hit-or-miss (at best), the streaming service has a pretty good track record with its TV shows, so I have faith that All of Us Are Dead is going to be more than just a style-over-substance cliche fest. And when you combine that with the awesome zombies we saw in the trailer, I think this show has the potential to be something really special.

Of course, we won’t know until it actually comes out, and luckily for us, that’ll be happening very soon. You can bet that I’m going to make sure I’m free on January 28 to binge All of Us Are Dead, so here’s hoping it lives up to our expectations.
