In the summer of 2020, my mom Diana Firefly Sellers, found a lump in her breast. In the fall of 2020, just as she began radiation treatment and surgery, I began writing Blood Brothers Life Harvest, the book that would later become a realistic and powerful zombie horror film.
In that book I poured all of my fear, desperation, and hope for the future of our family. I gave so much of myself to the characters, and I infused them with the feelings and personal torment that my mother and I were experiencing.
When it was finished, I read it to her, and she said that we should follow our dream of making a horror movie together now while we still could. Together we began forming a team of talented people and volunteers from our local community, and together we made something incredible. As one of our reviewers wrote; Blood Brothers: Life Harvest sinks its teeth into the zombie genre with fresh emotion and unexpected heart. Set against the chaos of a deadly outbreak, it’s more than just a survival story—it’s about family, sacrifice, and what it means to hold onto humanity when the world is falling apart.
Diana Firefly was an artist, a writer, a mother, and a filmmaker. She was more than her cancer, and she was the strongest woman I have ever known. Despite the agony of her illness, and her growing frailty, she fought to the last moment, and that was exactly the kind of real life determination that I wanted to have portrayed in the film. Along with my mother, other members of my family helped with the creation of this film, including Cherish Heaven Vaughn who helped with makeup, latex, and blood effects, Theresa Marion my aunt who helped with makeup and special effects as well as vein effect art, and David Sellers my father, who played the super zombie Dead Dave in the film. Starring a powerful cast of new and break out actors and actresses like Alex Hohn, Bobby Batson, and Nathan Kirby, and featuring a moving soundtrack by Luke Truan, Robert Wilson, and Beautiful Death, Blood Brothers Life Harvest was a labor of love, loss, and hope for all of us.
About Blood Brothers Life Harvest:
When a rabies like human virus floods the country and as panicking survivors become just as deadly as the infected, brothers Enoch and Aaron must fight to protect their family no matter what, but when Enoch is infected with the virus and slowly begins turning into a zombie, Aaron finds that he can no longer trust his older brother and comes to ask himself the question; is blood thicker than water?
