The Horror Obsessive Podcast Episode 1: The Evil Dead

Here at Horror Obsessive, we don’t just love writing about horror, we love talking about it too. In the Horror Obsessive Podcast, brought to you by Horror Obsessive Radio, we’re inviting you to come and listen in on some of our conversations. In this bi-weekly podcast, my cohost Sean Parker and I will take a deep dive into the world of movies, TV shows, and any other genre content that might catch our eye. We’ll talk about beloved classics, underrated gems you might not have seen (or even heard about!), and everything in between, so no matter where you stand on the horror spectrum, you’ll be sure to find something to suit your tastes.

On this inaugural episode of the Horror Obsessive Podcast, we talk a bit about the upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series that’ll be hitting Peacock sometime next year as well as Benson and Moorhead’s new film Something in the Dirt, and then we dive headfirst into the real meat of the episode: Sam Raimi’s 1981 classic The Evil Dead.

We touch on a wide variety of topics with this film, including the characters, the gore, and Raimi’s fantastic directing chops, so there’s something here for everyone. We even talk about whether this is a demon movie or a zombie movie, and that brief discussion also allows me to teach Sean the right way to arrange a Blu-ray collection (which is, of course, of the utmost importance).

Both of us had an absolute blast talking about one of our favorite horror movies ever made, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to us. When you’re done with this episode, give Horror Obsessive Radio a follow on both Twitter and Facebook to make sure you stay up to date on all of our great audio content.
