If you’ve ever wondered what Tremors would be like if the monsters were much smaller, then I’ve got just the trailer for you. Hell, even if you’ve never asked that question, I still think you should check this movie out. They Crawl Beneath sounds like it could be loads of fun, and it just dropped a trailer for us to sink our teeth into. Here’s what the film is going to be about:
Young police officer Danny (Joseph Almani) is working on an antique car at his uncle’s remote ranch when a major earthquake hits, pinning him under the vehicle and leaving him bloodied, alone, and with no way to call for help. Just when he thinks the claustrophobic nightmare can’t get any worse, something truly horrifying emerges from the fissures in the ground, forcing Danny to engage in a brutal fight for his life—and his sanity.
Admittedly, the idea of a guy stuck under a car for a whole movie sounds like it’ll get old very quickly, but there’s no need to worry. The trailer lets us know that Danny doesn’t stay trapped the entire time, so there’s more to They Crawl Beneath than the synopsis lets on.
Sure, the trailer doesn’t reveal too much more about the film, but the little bit it does show is enough to get me interested. In particular, it shows us just what Danny’s “horrifying nightmare” is going to be, and these creatures look super fun.
Like I said before, their design is very reminiscent of the graboids from the Tremors franchise, and the sneaky way they move and attack reminds me of all the “small monster” movies we got in the wake of Gremlins, like Critters and Ghoulies. I love that kind of stuff, so I’m really excited to give this film a shot.
They Crawl Beneath will be released via DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD on October 4.
