SurrealEstate Returns From the Grave for a Second Season

SYFY Network has confirmed that SurrealEstate is returning for Season 2 sometime in 2023. The studio actually cancelled the series in November but appears to have reversed its decision.

The Canadian paranormal drama stars Tim Rozon as Luke Roman, with Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Tennille Read rounding out the cast. Luke and his company, The Roman Agency, use a team of specialists to deal with ghosts and other entities possessing houses before they’re put on the market. It combines “living” and “dead” drama, as some of the characters do not believe in ghosts, while others are directly involved with the affairs of the deceased on a regular basis, as well as humour while exploring the backstory of Luke and the rest of The Roman Agency. It is mainly filmed in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Back in November 2021, creator and showrunner George R. Olsen expressed his sadness over the cancellation and hope that the show would find a new home. Reportedly, the series was sold in 160 territories to broadcasters across the world, so that might have had something to do with the renewal, and the steady popularity of binging TV series.

Cast members shared their reactions to the news on Twitter, thanking the fans for their support and excitement for the new season. Olsen himself Tweeting “there’s no place like home” and “That happened. Huge thanks to all of the friends of #SurrealEstate for your support of our little show. It means more than you will ever know. You are the reason we’re coming back and we can’t wait to see you all soon!” and capped it off with the Hashtag #HumorHorrorHeart, which sums up the series quite well.

The first season of SurrealEstate is available to stream VIA SYFY’s website. The second season is expected to premiere sometime in 2023.
