The First Full Trailer for Dashcam Is Here

A bit over a week ago, we got our first teaser for Rob Savage’s new movie Dashcam, and it was awesome. It made me super excited to see the film, so I’ve been counting down the days until its release. And now, just a short time later, we finally have our first full trailer for Dashcam.

The movie is about an American musician named Annie who goes to visit her friend Stretch in the UK, and while there, she’s asked to help out an elderly woman who’s being chased by someone who wants to hurt her. She agrees to do it, and soon afterwards, she and Stretch find themselves fighting for their lives against a malevolent supernatural force.

That’s a pretty vague plot description, and the trailer is just as guarded. In fact, if you didn’t already know what the movie was about, you might not be able to figure it out from the trailer alone. This trailer focuses more on the look and feel of the film than anything else, and for my money, that’s the absolute right way to go. It’s always best to learn about a movie’s plot as it unfolds before our eyes, so I love the way this Dashcam trailer hypes the film up without spoiling any story details.

It previews a whole bunch of scenes in a very short timeframe, but it doesn’t focus on any one of them long enough for us to get our bearings and really understand what’s going on. Instead, it just gives us a taste of the scares this movie has in store for us, and the quick editing imbues it with a feeling of dread and paranoia that’s sure to grab any genre fan’s attention. In short, it shows us exactly what we want without going an inch too far, so I’m now more excited than ever to see this movie.

Dashcam hits theaters and VOD on June 3.
