Paranormal Hunter is an upcoming co-op survival horror game revealed today during the UploadVR showcase, developed by EALoGAMES.
Inspired by Japanese folklore and horror cinema, in Paranormal Hunter you’ll explore haunted locations like abandoned hospitals and rundown houses alone or with up to three friends as you attempt to cleanse the area of evil spirits. Can you maintain your sanity as specters pursue you through the halls and search for clues? Optional VR support will be available for those brave enough to immerse themselves in what is sure to be a terrifying experience. Paranormal exploration games have become increasingly popular during the pandemic as a way to connect with friends. Co-op gameplay experiences in horror create a unique blend of fun and scares.
As you play, you’ll learn more about each location’s dark history and why the spirits have remained tethered to the land of the living. Ghosts can be repelled temporarily with UV lights while you and your team traverse a series of locked doors and blocked passageways. Use key objects to summon each entity and help them move on to the next world before their dark energy spreads and consumes the souls of you and your friends. Then use rewards from successful paranormal investigations to purchase and upgrade your equipment.
Paranormal Hunter is expected to launch on Windows PC via Steam Early Access in Q2 2022 with full keyboard and mouse support, as well as VR support for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Windows Mixed Reality. Language options will include English, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions will release in late 2022.
EALoGAMES is a Tokyo-based studio created by industry veterans with credits on games like the Shenmue series as well as Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. Paranormal Hunter will be the studio’s first title.
