Joe Bob Returns For Valentine’s Day

It has been two months since Joe Bob and Darcy graced our screens with some Last Drive-In love. That will change this week as Joe Bob returns for a Valentine’s Day Special with a new double-feature of The Last Drive-In, Joe Bob Put A Spell On You. Joining Joe Bob in this special is guest star Anna Biller (The Love Witch).

Valentine’s Day is an important time for all of us. Well, that is not true. Who feels that they need a day to make sure they express their love for someone? Shouldn’t you love that person all the time? Do you need a yearly reminder that today, and only today, you need to profess your feeling for someone? And the only way to express those feelings is to buy over-priced chocolate, stuffed animals, and Hallmark cards written by someone else to identify how you feel to that special someone? But, I digress.

What am I trying to say, you may ask? Come February 12, 2021, we don’t need to worry about emptying our wallets to show off the type of phony love that doesn’t tug on the heartstrings. Instead, we Mutants can all gather around our TV, computer, and phone screens to show our love and appreciation for the duo that brings us together: Joe Bob and Darcy.

In Joe Bob’s words,

We found a holiday we haven’t ruined yet. There’s a remarkable amount of horror fare centered around the hearts-and-flowers season. Plus Anna Biller may be the world’s foremost authority on the difference between what men mean when they talk about love and what women mean when they talk about love. There are dark aspects to Valentine’s Day, and we found all of them!

If you know and have been watching The Last Drive-In and are familiar with Joe Bob Briggs, you probably have a love and affection for horror. From ghouls and ghosts to sleazy exploitation and high-end horror, there isn’t a sub-genre within the horror community for which the Mutant Family does not have love and affection. Joe Bob and Darcy know this, and their passion for horror radiates through the screens to our eyes. Joe Bob, Darcy, and the entire Mutant Family think collectively along the same wavelength. We don’t need anything fancy to satiate our love for our horror community. All we need is each other to share and enjoy each other’s company as regale in our one collective love: horror.

So, it doesn’t matter who you are; the entire horror community is welcoming to everyone. Let’s all get together, plop down in front of our screens, login to the Shudder TV feed, and bask in our love of horror and the three Bs: blood, beasts, and breasts.

Joe Bob returns for Valentine’s Day on February 12, 2021 at 9:00 PM, with the special: Joe Bob Put A Spell On You only on Shudder. Fans can also watch on-demand on Shudder and AMC+ beginning Sunday, February 14th.

His favorite horror franchise is the Nightmare on Elm Street series and his favorite horror director is John Carpenter. He thinks the Maniac Cop series is supremely underrated, Demon Knight and In the Mouth of Madness are slept on and loves what Don Mancini has accomplished with the Child's Play franchise.
